He is also the founder President of River Water User Association (India).and country Director AAASIAN Varun Mitra Water Information, Advocacy and Advisory Project and Honorary Chief Executive Officer and Board of Director of International River-Basin Foundation. He is also a founder of River’s Day of India. He has 15 Ph.D.’s and 82 M.Tech. Thesis, 120 B.Tech Project reports and more than 150 research papers in his credit. He has also chaired more than 20 Doctoral and 70 post graduate research committees. He has delivered many Research Presentations/Plenary Session/Key note addresses in National and International Conferences and extensively travelled to the countries like Australia, Russia, Philippines, Turkey, United Kingdom, and France etc., He has received many awards and fellowships and is the member of several National and International professional bodies.
